Our final day in Cuba

We spent our final day in Cuba learning about the rich history of Cuban art at the Museo de Bellas Artes, answering some of our remaining questions at Museo de la Revolucion, exploring another face of Havana at a local boxing gym (where we were assured that boxing, not baseball, is really the national sport), and playing music and dancing together with our Cuban amigos at Vocal Clave de Sol. We ended the day with a party to celebrate the last couple weeks and all we have learned and shared. A band came to play for us and we enjoyed a traditional Cuban meal, danced with each other and our Cuban friends, and topped it off with ice-cream cake to celebrate Amanda’s birthday!

Back at the hotel, we all came together for the last time. We talked about our favorite moments from the trip and the lessons we’re taking home. Without a doubt, this has been a fun, full, and life-changing experience for us all. Thank you to all of our students for helping create the amazing moments we shared, and thank you, readers, for sharing our journey with us. Below, enjoy some photos from our trip!
